Introduction
Code-Co is committed to providing
complete, fast and common sense access to all Utah law.
The services
listed below are available now to subscribers of Code-Co's
Internet Access to Utah Law. Additional services are being
developed regularly.
If you are ready to subscribe right now, call us at 1-801-226-6876
(Provo) or 1-800-255-5294
(Toll-Free anywhere else) and we will enter your subscription.
Code-Co's subscription service provides specialized searching
services and access to statutes, court cases, agency rules, and
legislative tracking information.
These services are provided for a flat yearly fee.
There are NEVER ANY PER-MINUTE CHARGES.
This is not a service that only
computer wizards can get at. It is an easy-to-use
research service for those who
want instant access to all the new law --
without paying any per-minute charges. No
per-minute charges means you don't have to
rush your research, you don't have to worry
about someone in your office
running up huge on-line charges.
Code-Co's service combines the best of all
worlds: The constantly current Utah legal
information of the expensive on-line services
(including much they don't have) and the
peace of mind that comes from an affordable,
fixed rate, unlimited use subscription.
1. Complete Utah Code (State Statutes)
The Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel
or Utah State Legislature, is the keeper of
the official Utah Code. We maintain a
complete copy of the Utah Code database on
the Internet. We add Code-Co's exclusive software to make it
easy to find and use exactly what you are looking for. Getting
around in the Code is intuitive and open. The database is
searchable and organized along Title, Chapter, Part and
Section divisions.
2. Utah Advance Reports
Utah Appellate Courts' Cases online BEFORE they are published in hard copy
Complete Internet access to the citable Utah
Advance Reports including summaries, cites,
and pagination before the paper edition is
printed. Look up cases by name or cite. Find
relevant cases with complete text word-
searching. (Electronic searching gives
nearly equivalent services to the Utah Index and
the Utah Code Annotations. These two publications
will also be added to our internet services in the future.)
Cases currently go back to 1992. In the future, more cases will
be added.
3. Utah Administrative Code and Utah State Bulletin (state
agency rules)
The rules and regulations created by Utah state agencies are
available on our site in an indexed and cross linked database.
The complete compilation of the current rules is the Utah
Administrative Code which is updated monthly. Notice of
proposed rule changes is published twice a month in the
Utah State Bulletin. We archive all the Bulletin issues since 1996.
We also archive an annual edition of
the Utah Administrative Code as of January 1st of each year
since 1996.
4. Utah Legislative Report
Ten days after the General Session is over, we
produce a report of the full text of all bills passed during the
session.
Complete word-search and Utah Code section look-up
are available. Just type in the words
or the Utah Code title, chapter or section you
are interested in and instantly access any
relevant bill. You go right to the spot that
contains the information you seek. You can
print out or save any bill that is of interest.
5. Complete Legislative Tracking Service.
We provide complete, year round information on
legislative activities, including bills introduced,
actions taken, meeting schedules, agendas,
and records of votes. If influencing the
legislature is one of the ways you represent
your clients, this service is unique and vital.
You can instantly look up any chapter or section
in the Code and see all the bills that propose to
change it. You can then go right to the full text of
the proposed change.
This information is updated as often as 5 times a day
during the session and once a day the rest of the time.
You are kept completely current. This information consists of over
5,000 files per annual session organized and searchable
to let you easily zero in on just the ones you need.
NOTE: If you are a current subscriber to Code-Co's hardcopy
products, you receive nearly 50% off the regular rate
when you subscribe to the Full Service below.
All rates given below require a
full year's subscription, except where
specifically indicated. These rate are
for unlimited use by the subscriber and it's
employees at a single location using a single
account and password. Call us for rates if your
organization has multiple office locations.
There will never be any per-minute fees tacked
on to these rates.
Our Internet services are divided
into five groups of services and you may
subscribe to all five or any one or two that
interest you.
- The annual subscription rates are:
- Utah Code related services $120
Utah Advance Reports related services $240
Utah Administrative Code and Bulletins $120
Utah Legislative Report $49 (available 10 days after General Session)
Complete Legislative Tracking Services. (Year round access) $240.
- Full Service: for the complete package of all five together,
the package rate is $455 per year
Discounts and Special Prices
Code-Co Customer Discounts - All Services
For private firms which now subscribe to Code-Co's hardcopy
products (The Utah Advance Reports, the Utah Code Annotations,
or the Utah Index) and maintain those subscriptions,
the total rate for all five groups
Internet services together is just $240 per year. That is
a savings of nearly 50% on the package rate.
Special Citizen Discount - Legislative Tracking Service Only
for Non-lobbyists and Non-Profit Organization
(DOES NOT APPLY TO Utah Code, Utah Cases or Utah
Administrative Code)
For access to the Legislative Tracking Service
we offer a special rate
for non-profit organizations who do not use
paid employees or paid lobbyists to lobby the
legislature. The same rate is available to
private individuals interested
in tracking the legislature for their own
interest when, in Code-Co's sole judgment, their use
is not on behalf of an association, organization or
business which would not otherwise qualify for this
rate. The rate is $120 for a full year and
$90 for a six-month subscription that includes the
Legislative General Session in Jan. & Feb.
This rate must be requested at the time of
subscribing. Code-Co is the sole and final judge of a
subscriber's qualification for this rate.
Government Agencies
Rates and discounts for each individual public agency are
the same as those stated above for private
businesses. The use by all the employees
of a single agency at a single location are
covered by one subscription. (For rates for entire
state departments, cities, counties or other entities
that contain other other agencies as
subdivisions, please contact us for negotiated pricing.)
Multiple individual accounts for one firm
- Even though the rates above allow unlimited use by
all the employees of the firm at one location using one
account and password, firms may want to have
multiple accounts with seperate passwords for
the following reasons.
-
- 1) When time-critical information or a new service
comes on line, we send email notice to our subscribers.
We also use email to notify subscribers of problems that
are discovered and of solutions to those problem. Email
communication is a vital part of our service. If
multiple people in the firm want to get such notices directly
from us they can use the multiple account option explained
below.
2) We will have specialized tracking services
that can be ordered using your account and password.
For example, in an important case, you might want
to set up an automatic search against every new opinion
issued by the court looking for certain key topics.
When a new case is on-point, we
can immediatly send you an email notice, or even fax
you a copy of the case.
Such specialized services will have seperate charges. For
billing purposes and payment responsibility, you may want
seperate accounts.
If you wish to have more than one password account for your firm,
we can set that up for a rate of $50 per year per additional password/account.
You can get a free one-day password to try out our service.
Call us and we will give you a password.

5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (Mountain Time)
