              1996 GENERAL SESSION

          AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $50,000 FROM THE
          GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1996-97 FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO GUIDE
          FUTURE DECISIONS, DESIGN ANALYSIS, AND CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE
          SOUTH SHORE, GREAT SALT LAKE STATE PARK, INCLUDING A PHASE 1
          FEASIBILITY STUDY OF A ROAD AND CAUSEWAY TO THE SOUTH END OF
          ANTELOPE ISLAND; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
          This act enacts uncodified material.
          Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
              Section 1. Appropriation.
              There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 1996-97, $50,000 to the
          Division of Parks and Recreation for a feasibility study to guide future decisions, design analysis,
          and capital development for the South Shore, Great Salt Lake State Park. The feasibility study
          shall include:
              (1) a review, analysis, and evaluation of:
              (a) Saltair Beach environmental problems associated with itinerant ground water;
              (b) wetlands;
              (c) concessionaire operations;
              (d) the 1979 master plan;
              (e) park operations; and
              (f) future public enjoyment of the park; and
              (2) a phase 1 feasibility study of a road and causeway to the south end of Antelope Island
          State Park from approximately 7200 West North Temple.
              Section 2. Effective date.
              This act takes effect on July 1, 1996.
