              1996 GENERAL SESSION
              STATE OF UTAH

          AN ACT RELATING TO EDUCATION; PROVIDING A $210,000 APPROPRIATION TO
          UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE MATCHING MONEY FOR FEDERAL
          GRANTS, TO MEET ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CENTER FOR
          PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, AND TO FACILITATE ESSENTIAL TRAINING
          PROGRAMS NEEDED BY STATE DISABILITY AGENCY STAFF; AND PROVIDING AN
          EFFECTIVE DATE.
          This act enacts uncodified material.
          Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
              Section 1. Appropriation.
              There is appropriated from the General Fund for the fiscal year 1996-97, $210,000 to Utah
          State University to be used for base budget funding of the continuation of essential training
          programs to:
              (1) provide state matching money for federal grants to meet accreditation requirements for
          the Center for Persons with Disabilities, a university affiliated program;
              (2) assist the center in obtaining grants from federal agencies; and
              (3) facilitate essential training programs through the center that are needed by state
          disability agency staff and leaders and members of consumer organizations.
              Section 2. Effective date.
              This act takes effect on July 1, 1996.
