          AN ACT RELATING TO APPLIED TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION; REQUIRING THE
          PUBLIC AND HIGHER EDUCATION APPROPRIATIONS SUBCOMMITTEES TO HOLD
          ANNUAL JOINT MEETINGS TO REVIEW AND DISCUSS THE FUNDING OF APPLIED
          TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN THE PUBLIC AND HIGHER EDUCATION
          SYSTEMS.
          This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
          ENACTS:
          53A-17a-113.5 , Utah Code Annotated 1953
          Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
              Section 1. Section 53A-17a-113.5 is enacted to read:
              53A-17a-113.5. Appropriations subcommittees' joint annual meetings.
              (1) The legislative Public Education Appropriations and Higher Education Appropriations
          Subcommittees shall hold annual joint meetings to review and discuss the funding of applied
          technology education programs in the public and higher education systems.
              (2) (a) The chairs of the subcommittees shall determine:
              (i) the number of joint meetings to be held each year;
              (ii) when the joint meetings shall be held; and
              (iii) if attendance at the meetings should be limited to selected members from each
          subcommittee rather than the entire membership of both subcommittees.
              (b) The chairs' determinations are subject to approval by legislative leadership.
