1.    Call to Order - Senator Myrin

    *    A quorum requires 2 Senators and 4 Representatives

2.    Committee Business

    *    Approval of May 14, 1996 minutes
    *     Follow-up on Cedar City Meetings

3.    State Native American Coordinating Board
    
The chair and members of the newly created board have been invited to meet with the committee. Topics of discussion might include board reports to the committee and to the departments, resources, areas of focus for the board, membership of the board, etc.

    *     Discussion of Legislative Intent -- Representative Jensen
    *     Introduction/Background of Board Members
    *     Committee/Board Discussion

4.    Economic Development
     Economic Development continues to be a top priority for the tribes. The committee will review state economic development incentives or mechanisms and their applicability to the tribes, hear the results of a recently held conference on financing on Indian lands, get an update on an effort to make capital available on the reservation, and have an open discussion with tribal economic development officials.
     *     Background -- Staff
     *     State Economic Development Programs -- Ed Myers, Department of Community and Economic Development
    *     Access to Financial Services on Reservations     
        -    Report Conference on Financing on Indian Lands -- Dave Conine, Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah
    *     Committee Discussion With Tribal Officials
