        2.     Uniform Unclaimed Property Act - Draft Legislation

            The commi ttee initiate d review of this draft legislat ion at its May 15, 1996 meeting. Final action is anticipat ed. The draft legislati on incorpor ates propose d uniform law addressi ng interstat e problem s associate d with unclaim ed property administ ration. The propose d uniform law changes the abandon ment period for gift certificat es and proceeds for insuranc e policies from five to three years. It also limits agree ments of fee finders with unclai med proper ty owner s.
