Proposed rules of Utah state government agencies are first published in the Utah State Bulletin before they can become law. The Bulletin also contains other types of notices and reports of actions of state agencies.
[BACKGROUND: The Utah Administrative Code contains all the rules and regulations promulgated by agencies of Utah state government pursuant to Utah state statutes or federal law. The source for the Utah Administrative Code page was obtained from the Utah State Division of Administrative Rules, Ken Hansen Director, Mike Broschinsky, Editor. We then processed the source into HTML, created the links and indexed the full text.
Changes and Updating: State agencies can make changes to this Code at any time pursuant to the process set out in the Administrative Rulemaking Act. The Division of Administrative Rules creates a single monthly update to the code database containing all the changes made in that month. It takes some time after the end of a month before the months update to the database is available. For example, on July 1, 1998 the last monthly update released by the Division was the December, 1997 update. As quickly as a new update is available, we will update our HTML edition of the Utah Administrative Code.
In the future, we will create a database of changes made so that you can research the history of changes made to the Administrative Code as reflected in each of these updates. We will start the changes database with updates after January 1, 1998.
Historical Editions: In addition to the current edition of the Utah Administrative Code, and the update database, we will keep selected complete historical editions. Currently, we have the July 1, 1996 edition. Starting with 1998, we will keep the January 1st edition each year.
In the HTML versions of the Utah Administrative code, formatted tables may lose formatting shown in the printed rules.
